Juventus have reignited their interest in Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte, with Pep Guardiola’s side open to a deal.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the Spanish centre-back is on the Serie A side’s list of options to reinforce their defence.

The newspaper explains that Juventus boss Max Allegri has made improving his defence a priority this summer, and there are two names at the top of his list, Benoit Badiashile and Gabriel Magalhaes.

However, the club’s management are setting their net a little wides, and a recent trip to London for Federico Cherubini has seen the idea of signing Laporte ‘born again’.

He is reportedly ‘not considered non-transferable’ by Manchester City, and that’s opened up the idea for Juventus once again.

There is no mention of them starting any contacts or anything of that nature as yet, just that the idea has been sparked into life again after Cherubini’s recent trip to London.

It seems any deal is likely to depend on how negotiations for the likes of Badiashile and Gabriel go first, but with Manchester City not completely opposed move, Laporte may become a serious target sooner rather than later.
