Sporting Club de Portugal winger Trincão has heaped praise on Chelsea signing Geovany Quenda, detailing the qualities the Blues will be getting.

O Jogo cover comments from the winger today discussing Quenda, who is set to join Chelsea on a permanent basis next year.

The Blues moved to snap up the highly rated youngster last month in a double deal alongside teammate Dario Essugo.

The plan is for the youngster, who has established himself as one of the most highly rated in Europe thanks to his performances for Sporting over the last year.

He’ll remain with them until next summer, with Chelsea happy for him to continue his development in his homeland for another year before heading to Stamford Bridge.

That’ll allow him to ignore the pressures of the Premier League and perhaps take advantage of the knowledge and experience of some of the older, more established players in Sporting’s squad for 12 months.

Trincão can certainly be described as one of those players, despite only being 25 years old himself, and is willing to admit he’s already been left very impressed by the youngster after working with him at Sporting.

“Quenda is not only a great player, but he is also a great kid,” he said.

“He knows the quality he has, but he also knows how to listen and listens to everyone, he knows he has to work, and he works very well.

“On the field, he is not afraid of having the ball, nor of going forward and doing what he knows how to do so well, so I think his future will be bright.”
