Over the weekend, we covered claims from Italy on Lazio’s desire to take Felipe Anderson back to the club.
There’s building excitement around a possible deal for the West Ham player, with fans believing he could be just what is needed right now. Maurizio Sarri, who took over at the Serie A club this summer, has been described as being a long time fan of the Brazilian, and optimism has been growing.
Despite that, it hasn’t felt like it’s built on an awful lot.
There’s been little in the way of claims of meetings with the player, his agent, or West Ham, and the idea of a loan with a purchase obligation sounds very much like Lazio’s desire rather than something the Premier League club have accepted.
Nevertheless, TMW now bring some more confidence.
They state Felipe Anderson returning to the Rome club is ‘very likely’ in this window. The loan and buying obligation is mentioned again, with Lazio set to pay €8m next summer if the deal goes through.
Time will tell whether this optimism is justified.
