Over the past few weeks, the Catalan media have regularly stated Barcelona are keen on signing Everton’s Amadou Onana.

It was also said the La Liga side’s sporting director, Deco, has initiated contact with the midfielder’s entourage over a potential deal in the summer.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest on the 22-year-old’s situation at Everton and Barcelona interest.

He says there’s been no concrete approach yet from the Spanish giants to sign the Toffees star.

Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on Onana as they have included him in their list for the next window. The journalist adds the Bavarian club have been impressed with his recent performances.

There’s been claims elsewhere that super-agent Pini Zahavi has taken over the interests of the Belgium international, but Tavolieri has dismissed it. He says the Everton player is still represented by BTFM, which is owned by his sister, Melissa Onana.

Amadou’s current deal lasts until 2027 and Tavolieri insists his future at Everton is ‘now more than open’. With several clubs keeping an eye on the former Lille man, he may leave the Premier League side in the summer.

The Belgian has managed three goals and an assist from 30 games for Sean Dyche’s side this season.
