Real Madrid have set their sights on Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

That’s according to journalist Matteo Moretto, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state the La Liga side have marked the right-back’s name in red.

The England international’s deal at Liverpool lasts until 2025 and several clubs have been following him, including Los Blancos.

Over the past decade, Real Madrid have been attentive to top players entering their final of year contract and that’s helped them with the likes of Toni Kroos, Thibaut Courtois and Eduardo Camavinga.

Moretto says Liverpool’s negotiations to renew the 25-year-old’s deal haven’t progressed so far. He also adds Carlo Ancelotti’s side haven’t yet made an approach to either the Reds or the fullback.

In other words, Real Madrid are interested in the player, and there’s been no movement so far for a potential deal. What they want to happen is for the player to enter the final year of his deal without a renewal, so they could then pressure Liverpool and try for a good value deal.

The journalist further states that it’s still unclear what Alexander-Arnold’s plans are for the future.

Alexander-Arnold has scored two goals and registered 10 assists from 29 games this season.
