The Italian media continue to talk about Lazio interest in Rangers’ Ianis Hagi.
Interested before the Romanian moved to the Scottish Premiership, there’s a belief at Lazio that Hagi is certainly worth a gamble for the future. That belief is partly based on who the player’s father is.
Corriere dello Sport reports the track for a transfer of the Rangers player ‘remains alive’.
It’s thought Hagi isn’t in the plans of Genk for the future, so if his loan from the Belgian club isn’t made permanent by Rangers, then Genk will look to find someone else to sign him.
Hagi’s purchase option is set at around €5m, and it’s still not known whether Rangers are going to use that. There’s been repeated claims in Romania about the player’s future being open, but it largely depends on what Steven Gerrard wants.
Should Gerrard not want his club to use the option on Hagi, then he returns to Genk and Lazio will have a good chance of a cheap deal. Things change a lot if Gerrard decides to keep the player.
