According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas are again showing interest in Southampton forward Paul Onuachu.
The Nigerian international was linked with a move to the Black Eagles during the summer transfer window, following his successful loan spell with Trabzonspor last season.
Sabah today report on Besiktas’ pursuit for the 30-year-old as they look to bolster their attacking options this month. There’s concerns over the future of Ciro Immobile with the Istanbul giants and in recent weeks they’ve been linked with a number of centre forwards.
Onuachu again seems to be on Besiktas’ radar and the Turkish media outlet claim transfer talks are in ‘full swing’ for the Southampton player.
It’s reported the Super Lig club’s new president Serdal Adalı is working on a deal for the attacker, along with other Besiktas officials.
There is no indication whether the Turkish side are looking to loan Onuachu or are lining up an offer to buy him.
He’s made 12 appearances for Southampton this season, but has rarely started games. Onuachu is contracted to the Saints until June 2026.
