England continues to be pointed out as the destination for Porto midfielder João Carlos Teixeira this summer.
We’ve already covered reports from the North of Portugal saying that Bolton Wanderers were well positioned in the race, while a Championship move is the most likely option for the player.
Now outlet Notícias ao Minuto confirms the information, saying the midfielder doesn’t have much of a future at Porto as he can’t have enough playing time at the club.
They say the lack of minutes is motivating Teixeira to leave, and his future should lie in England, where he’s previously played for Liverpool between 2012 and 2016.
Notícias ao Minuto does mention Bolton in their story, but they don’t make it clear if they know something about it or if they’re just covering news from England. They first call the Championship side the ‘best positioned club in the race’, and then says that Jorge Mendes’ talks with the club have been reported by the English press.
What is clear is that Teixeira wants to return to England, and doesn’t seem to have a problem playing in the Championship. So if Bolton are interested in signing him, this is the time.
