Recent reports from Spain have suggested Martin Odegaard is again unsettled at Real Madrid and wouldn’t mind returning to Arsenal this summer.

A less than sensational preseason has contributed to that stance, and it’s thought that even though Carlo Ancelotti rates the player he can’t give him any assurances over a starting place at Madrid.

Most of the reports regarding Odegaard’s future mention interest from Arsenal, and we covered claims earlier today which stated Mikel Arteta is ready to give the midfielder the minutes he wants.

ABC, a major national newspaper in Spain, say Florentino Perez will have a firm stance with any player who wants to leave Madrid this summer: They can go but a club must match the valuation set by Los Blancos.

That’s the case with Odegaard who ‘can leave’ if Arsenal cough up enough money. According to ABC, ‘the transfer price is €50m’, and that would be the amount Perez requires to let his player go permanently this summer.

Arsenal would likely prefer a loan with a buying clause, and it remains to be seen if the Gunners have a chance of a better deal as the window grows older.
