It is ‘practically inevitable’ that forward Jota Silva will leave Vitória Guimarães this summer, with West Ham firmly in the picture for him.
That’s according to Record, who say the market around the player remains alive and he continues to ‘whet the appetite’ of several sides.
That’s made a move practically inevitable this summer and West Ham are one of the sides showing an interest in him.
The window is open for him as his current deal is coming to an end and the 24-year-old had already received several approaches through his representatives.
This has been the case in recent days and Vitória Guimarães chairman António Miguel Cardoso is waiting for a concrete proposal to arrive so they can negotiate a departure before the end of the transfer window.
The Portuguese club want to negotiate upwards as they owe 30% of any deal to his former club Casa Pia, while they only own 50% of the transfer themselves, with 20% also going to the player himself.
The newspaper makes no mention of an asking price for West Ham or anyone else, although previous reports have had the figure at €10-12m.
That’s surely tempting for the Hammers or anyone else, and it seems the deal is absolutely there to be done at some point.
