Thursday’s edition of Marca had Isco splashed across the front page, with claims Pep Guardiola is insisting for his signing at Manchester City.

The story was pushed just hours after David Silva had announced next season will be his last with the Premier League club. Given how Isco has been linked with a move to the English side since before he moved to Real Madrid, it looked like transfer rumour painting-by-numbers.

Marca’s actual article to justify the front page didn’t really have an awful lot in it.

It’s no surprise that today they’ve forgotten it, completely. There’s not one mention in the newspaper of Isco potentially moving to Manchester City.

Others, however, have picked the baton up.

Mundo Deportivo report moving to City would be Isco’s ‘favourable option’ after interest ’emerged in recent days’.

The Spaniard feels his football suits the Guardiola style, and that he would get more opportunities at the club.

Returning to training on July 8th, that’s when his Madrid future, or lack of it, will be sorted out.
