On Tuesday we covered comments from Red Bull Salzburg director Christoph Freund, who poured some doubt on a Leeds United move for Mohamed Camara.
Freund said he wasn’t even sure the Whites had a concrete intention to sign the midfielder, despite claims otherwise. He’d been speaking to Salzburger Nachrichten, and Wednesday’s edition of the newspaper suggests the move is off, with Leeds United going for Tyler Adams instead.
Newcastle United or Brighton & Hove Albion could now move for Camara, although he’s expected back at training this week.
Salzburger Nachrichten say Adams is a ‘much cheaper’ option than Camara, with the suggestion that’s why Leeds changed their minds about the deal. The 22-year-old is expected to start preseason training on Thursday, unless another club, such as Newcastle or Brighton, can get a deal agreed quickly for the player.
The newspaper is confident that Adams to Leeds United is a deal on the way to being completed, and it’s clear they don’t expect a new effort from the Whites for Camara.
