At the beginning of the transfer window, Andre Gomes being linked with half the Premier League and then signing for West Ham didn’t seem the craziest idea.

Those in charge of transfers at the Hammers would likely at least be tempted by the idea of signing a Barcelona player, especially one who joined the club in such a big transfer from Valencia.

Therefore it’s no surprise that West Ham are the club being pushed most at the moment. This could very much be a case of Barca pursuing the Hammers and trying to build a deal, and in their Saturday edition Mundo Deportivo suggests the reason for that.

After covering claims of a ‘first offer’ from the Premier League club, which will be a loan, Mundo Deportivo once again drag West Ham’s Domingos Quina into the equation.

The 18 year old Portuguese footballer has been attracting interest after his displays for his national youth team, and if Barca could get him whilst pushing Gomes out on loan it would be considered a win at this stage of the season.

Mundo Deportivo say the only other clubs to have made any effort for Gomes, and even that seems tentative, are Arsenal and Valencia.

Valencia would be a return to the player’s club, and Arsenal’s Unai Emery was previously manager there.
