Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has ended up in the sights of Fulham this summer.

On July 8th, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg explained the Germany international has found an agreement with the Cottagers for a three-year contract.

He also stated Fulham are negotiating a fee with Arsenal to seal a deal for the 30-year-old.

Bild now claim the former Bayer Leverkusen man’s ‘transfer is hot’ and he is ‘about to move’ to Fulham.

The Gunners stared their preseason friendlies with a 5-3 win over German side Nürnberg on Friday. Mikel Arteta left the goalkeeper out of the squad for yesterday’s clash.

According to Bild, Arsenal didn’t hand minutes to Leno because they didn’t want to ‘risk’ an injury, which could make his move to Craven Cottage fall through at the last minute.

This is a ‘good sign for Leno’, who has agreed terms for a contract with Fulham until 2025, with an option to further extend it by a year.

A move to Fulham could improve the keeper’s chances to play regularly, which he didn’t achieve at Arsenal, following Aaron Ramsdale’s arrival in 2021. Leno needs more minutes in the first half of next season, to retain hope of making it to the World Cup with Germany.
