Nicolò Zaniolo’s future could be away from Aston Villa beyond this season.
That’s at least what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting and they add that the former AS Roma man could return to Italy in the next window.
Last summer, Aston Villa signed the 24-year-old from Galatasaray on a loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.
TMW don’t specify the conditions but state the winger could return to the Turkish club in the summer, meaning the conditional obligation isn’t going to be exercised by the Villans.
Zaniolo left Roma for the Turkish club last January and then moved to Villa Park later that year. The report states he also wants to return to his country, to be a ‘protagonist’, both in Serie A and in the national team.
TMW state there’s a ‘strong call’ from Italy and the Serie A’s doors ‘could really open’ for him in the next window.
Milan are studying Zaniolo’s situation, while both Napoli and Fiorentina are at the window to sign him. These clubs can only sign the player if Unai Emery’s side don’t end up buying him.
The attacker has two goals from 24 matches for Aston Villa this season.
