Back at the start of the season, West Ham United agreed to loan Nikola Vlasic to Torino.
The player has been getting regular playing time at the Serie A side, with four goals and four assists in 25 appearances, and seems to be enjoying his time in Italy.
Reports claim that Torino would need to spend €15m to trigger the buying option and buy Vlasic from West Ham at the end of the season, and with him being well used by the club, that’s a pretty reasonable possibility for the summer.
As club chief Davide Vagnati spoke to the Italian media on Thursday, he was quizzed about the player.
That’s because Vlasic is currently out with an injury, and the director claimed the player may end up being sidelined for a while.
“A particular injury: I don’t have a degree in medicine, I can’t say an exact term for the injury. A borderline situation, he’s a lion but I don’t see it as simple,” said Vagnati (via TuttoMercatoWeb).
It turns out that Vagnati was also asked about the intention to buy the players who are currently on loan.
He didn’t specifically talk about the West Ham player, and claimed all those situations should be sorted at a later date rather than in the coming weeks.
“Now it’s premature, it will be towards the end of the season. On renewals, we’re talking to who we think is right, but we mustn’t force it: whoever wants to stay must be available, whoever has a hesitation is fine because there are so many players in the world. I haven’t fears for those who are about to expire, we talk to those who interest us and if it doesn’t go well, we will take others”.
