Aston Villa have identified Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen as the target for the winter market.
That’s according to Bild, who say Aston Villa want to sign the 25-year-old to improve their attack.
The forward has scored five goals and registered an assist from 20 games this season and has a deal lasting until 2026.
Bild state it’s an open secret Malen wants to leave the Bundesliga side as soon as possible and things can ‘move very quickly’ because the Villans have made an approach.
It’s claimed Unai Emery’s side have already contacted the Netherlands international and his camp to express their interest.
The player is keen on changing clubs soon and the German club are ready to sanction his sale in January. The report states if there’s an offer between €25m and €30m, BVB would ‘definitely let Malen go’.
He’s isolated and feeling lonely at Dortmund and the Premier League side could offer him an escape route in January. With the Dutchman and BVB keen on a transfer, Aston Villa can secure his services by offering at least €25m.
Barcelona are also interested in Malen, but it could be difficult for them to sign him due to their financial situation.
