Napoli have been handed a major boost ahead of their clash with Liverpool this evening, with Victor Osimhen having trained with the group ahead of the game.
The Italian side host Jurgen Klopp and his team tonight for the opening game of the group stages in the Champions League.
They are considered the underdogs for the clash, although Liverpool’s indifferent start to the season has made things considerably closer than they might have been.
If Luciano Spalletti’s side are to come away with anything they will need their key men to step up, and Osimhen is at the top of that pile.
The Nigerian striker has been in fine form again this season but according to Calciomercato there was a ‘big fear’ he would miss the clash with Liverpool after he picked up a ‘sore patch’ in the clash with Lazio at the weekend.
That saw him doing personalised work on Monday and training alone yesterday, leading to concerns he might miss out.
However, the problem has ‘cleared up’ and ‘he trained with the group’ in their practice session today ahead of the game.
There is now a belief he will be ‘ready to take the field’ this evening and boost his side’s hopes of a famous win over Liverpool.
