French side Toulouse are readying themselves for an England jackpot and a potentially colossal rise on the fee they paid Leeds United for Charlie Cresswell if that happens.

That’s according to Les Violets, who cover the player today and how a potential path into the England set up could end up benefitting Toulouse majorly.

They paid Leeds €4.5m last summer to sign Cresswell, who has been a regular for them in Ligue 1 so far, with 24 appearances to his name and 84% of the available minutes under his belt.

That’s helped to further establish himself for the England U21s, with the defender adding to his appearance total in this international break with appearances against France and Portugal’s U21s.

Toulouse are excited about that and the possibility that he could make his way into the England set up in future, something which would undoubtedly see his asking price rise and Toulouse make a healthy profit on the fee they paid Leeds a year ago.

That’s certainly the hope for them, with manager Carles Martinez Novell insisting they’re hoping he can make his senior England debut before too long.

“We are working in that direction,” he is quoted as telling Flashscore.

“He’s currently with the U21, we signed him, he’s from Leeds, he’s playing a lot, he’s making progress, he wants it… As I said, the most important thing is to want to improve, to want to grow.

“If he is called with youth side, he can arrive as a first team. Every time someone is called with the A, it’s a pride, because it means that we’ve achieved something good, and especially because the player is happy, and that’s the most important thing.”
