Nottingham Forest were active in the last two transfer windows as they signed more than 25 players in the last two windows. Among them was Loïc Badé, who joined the Tricky Trees from Rennes on a loan deal last summer.
The 23-year-old’s temporary stay with the Premier League side was cut short in the winter market and was allowed to join Sevilla on loan in the same window, as Badé left Nottingham Forest without making an appearance and Steve Cooper included him in the match day squad only once, against Wolverhampton Wanderers last October.
His situation has improved a lot in Spain, where he’s managed 25 appearances this year, and the centre-back is now preparing for the Europa League final against AS Roma on May 31st. Ahead of Sevilla’s upcoming tie, Marca interviewed the Frenchman, where he explained his joy over potentially featuring in the final after a difficult period at Nottingham Forest.
“It’s a dream. A very nice dream because my season, when I started with Rennes and Nottingham Forest, was very tough, it has been a very difficult year for me. But now I try to play as many games as possible, playing the best possible game that I can give,” he said,
“We have a final. We can win the Europa League again for this club that loves it so much. It’s something very beautiful in a season that is already special. For all. A year where I have had to learn.”
Marca quizzed Badé if his life has changed at Sevilla after a difficult period at Nottingham Forest.
“Yes, of course. That is why it is a very special season. It’s football, that’s how this sport is,” Badé explained.
“Sometimes it is hard and we have to work, put up with the things that can happen to us and keep looking forward. When we have an opportunity, we have to go for it. Don’t waste it. Sevilla gave me the opportunity and here I am right now enjoying it.’
