Earlier this week, we covered a story from Mundo Deportivo regarding Everton’s interest in Barcelona’s Marc Cucurella.

The young left-back’s contract with the Spanish giants is up at the end of the season, and both Sport and Mundo have now reported that Ronald Koeman is keen on the defender, with a possible offer arriving in the summer to sign him on a free.

However, the report also stated that Cucurella would prioritise a stay at the Nou Camp over a move to Goodison Park, yet another side could change that, if Wednesday’s Mundo Deportivo report is to be believed.

According to the Catalan newspaper, Borussia Dortmund, who are known to attract young talented players to their club with relative ease, are the latest side to have shown strong interest in the 18-year-old.

And with Joo-Ho Park barely featuring, Dortmund could be trying to find a backup for Schmelzer.

One thing is certain, it won’t be easy for Everton.
