The Milan edition of Italy’s Il Giorno makes it clear on Monday that Tottenham need to up their game if they genuinely want to sign Krzysztof Piatek.
Losing prominence with AC Milan, the striker’s situation got worse when Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived on a free transfer. The Swedish striker started the match against Cagliari at the weekend and scored Milan’s second goal in a 2-0 victory, whilst Piatek wasn’t able to get off the bench.
Despite that, Milan have conditions over a January exit.
Il Giorno state the Rossoneri have ‘declined any loan offerings’, including one they say came from Tottenham after the injury to Harry Kane.
The club are said to have gone further, making it very clear to Piatek’s entourage that the player can only leave for a permanent transfer. Finances on the deal also have to be attractive, and at something around the €28-30m it’s claimed Aston Villa have offered.
Such an amount would suit Milan, but Piatek hasn’t given his approval to move to the Midlands.
As it stands, there’s no intention to hand out discounts on the Poland international or to change the formula of the transfer demand. Milan are getting tough, and it may be because they feel there’s interest from multiple Premier League clubs.
