Juventus may have been strongly linked to Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the past few weeks, but there’s still some uncertainty in the Italian media about whether the Bianconeri can afford that operation.
Calcio Mercato today shares a long story about the Old Lady’s market plans, explaining that with the recent cases of Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli, one facing a spell on the sidelines after a doping violation and the other the subject of a gambling investigation, the situation should force them to go after new midfielders in the middle of the season.
It’s once again said that Juventus are evaluating the signing of Hojbjerg from Tottenham, as he was said to have been offered by ‘some intermediaries’.
The problem is that Spurs are said to be demanding €30m for the transfer, especially because Atletico Madrid are also keen on the player. And that price is labelled as ‘impossible’ for the Bianconeri.
The scenario would improve in case Tottenham accept a loan with an option to buy, which is the usual way Italian clubs work. The midfielder himself is said to be keen on the move, since he’d have a more important role at a new club.
