Portuguese newspaper Record have a big article on Alex Grimaldo in their Monday edition, and Tottenham fans won’t be surprised to hear their club gets a mention.

It’s a transfer story which has been wheeled out repeatedly, but one which makes sense.

Record state Tottenham have put €30m ‘aside’ to sign Grimaldo, but first they need to find out what’s happening in-house.

Tottenham hope to ‘solve the situation’ of Danny Rose, with uncertainty still surrounding the England international’s future. What happens with Rose will have a direct impact upon what Spurs do with their interest in Benfica’s Grimaldo.

It’s a similar situation at Napoli, with the Serie A club wanting to work out both the fitness and transfer future of Faouzi Ghoulam before deciding on any Grimaldo move.

Record report Benfica manager Rui Vitoria is currently planning for the new season with the 22 year old Spaniard in his squad, but the club’s president Luís Filipe Vieira ‘wont hesitate’ to negotiate a sale if a tempting offer arrives.
