Ever since Juventus decided to spend big to get Dusan Vlahovic, the future of Paulo Dybala in Turin has been questioned.
Not because the Argentine wants to leave, far from it, but with his contract expiring in the summer, talk of a renewal still hasn’t led to him extending, allowing him to, if he so wishes, talk with other clubs.
Tottenham, due to the Fabio Paratici connection, very quickly started getting named alongside many others, but it’s just the two Premier League clubs who remain now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The other is Manchester City, and the newspaper, when looking at what the future could hold for Dybala, explain that Inter, Spurs and Pep Guardiola’s side are ‘at the window’ for the playmaker.
It’s said he is ‘liked’ by Tottenham and the Etihad club, but they also make something else clear: the Argentina international won’t talk to anyone else before he’s sat down with Juventus to see what they can do.
This is because the Turin side had agreed with Dybala and his agent that he could sign a €8m + €2m in bonuses deal until 2026 come February, but the arrival of Vlahovic has changed things.
So, Juventus are evaluating ‘the possibility of renegotiating the agreement, starting from a lower fixed base, around €7m’.
Dybala, down his end, has caught wind of this, and is waiting for ‘clarifications’ before deciding what he wants to do.
This means Tottenham, if they do want to make a serious move for the player to please Antonio Conte, will have to wait a little longer before they can sit down with his agent to discuss a contract.
