Ajax can’t sell all their team this summer, clearly, so those clubs interested in players at the Dutch side will need to get in early.

Frenkie de Jong has already agreed a deal with Barcelona, whilst Matthijs de Ligt is to be allowed an exit and is expected to join the midfielder. Then there’s Donny van de Beek, David Neres and Hakim Ziyech. It would be a big blow for all five named players to go in one window.

Tottenham have repeatedly been linked with Van de Beek, and this weekend Mundo Deportivo say Spurs ‘want’ to sign the player.

Borussia Dortmund would provide competition to Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but so too could Barcelona, according to the Catalan newspaper.

Not content with signing De Jong and closing in on De Ligt, Barcelona are being greedy when it comes to Ajax.

All of this means that if Tottenham’s interest in the summer transfer is genuine then they really need to get a move on before someone else gets in first, or Ajax decide to close shop.
