Giovani Lo Celso was left out of Antonio Conte’s plans at Tottenham Hotspur and that saw him join Villarreal on a loan deal in January.
Last week, El Periódico Mediterráneo reported the 26-year-old is the priority target for the La Liga side’s manager, Unai Emery, this summer.
It was also stated the Spanish club are ready to offer around €18m to Tottenham Hotspur to buy the attacking midfielder.
The former Real Betis man didn’t contribute a lot with goals and assists, but today’s Marca state he did have a ‘great end to the season’ with the Yellow Submarine.
The newspaper further adds the Tottenham Hotspur owned player’s signing is the ‘express desire’ of the former Arsenal manager, and in order to fulfil Emery’s request, Villarreal are ‘in talks’ with Spurs to buy the Argentina international.
Lo Celso is set to leave the north London club and the latter want €20m to part ways with him this summer.
There’s no mention whether the Champions League semi-finalist are ready to meet the fee demand set by Conte’s side.
Apart from Villarreal, Lo Celso is attracting interest from other clubs. Marca, however, doesn’t provide details of those clubs in today’s report.
