Back in March, Corriere dello Sport had a very big splash on Inter’s interest in Tottenham’s Erik Lamela.
Seemingly on course to becoming an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Spurs, the Argentinean suffered a hip injury back in October 2016 that kept him out for the remainder of the season.
Since then, vague talk of a transfer away from Wembley has sporadically appeared, but nothing ever stuck. Until now.
Over the past few weeks, reports in Italy, mostly from FC Inter News, have suggested the Serie A side are serious about saving Lamela from his Tottenham ordeal, with the Premier League side potentially going for AC Milan’s Suso to replace him.
On Monday, the very same website claim that Daniel Levy has now fixed a price for the former Roma star, and that stands at €18m.
While that is very affordable for Inter, the Serie A outfit are trying to haggle a lower price (around €15m), probably to show they aren’t willing to say yes to everything.
If Tottenham do agree to these terms, it’ll show how quickly Lamela’s stock has dropped over just one season, having paid over €30m for him the first place back in 2013, especially with two years left on his deal.
Let’s see what happens.
