Perhaps a sign that Tottenham are really aiming to build on this season’s achievements, El Chiringuito TV in Spain are claiming Daniel Levy and co. ‘want to buy’ Marco Asensio.

The forward was a rotation option for the La Liga giants last season, starting just 50% of their league games and totalling 30 appearances in the competition, yet he appears to be integral to Zinedine Zidane’s plans going forward.

That last part is what the TV show suggests, claiming that Real Madrid have directed Tottenham towards the player’s release clause, which stands at €700m.

As we all know, Daniel Levy will not be paying that, and they also face the problem of convincing Asensio, as Chiringuito TV state the forward wants to stay in Madrid.

The only way an exit could take place was if Florentino Pérez told him he was transferrable, but since they referring Tottenham to the €700m release clause, that isn’t the case.

As Josep Pedrerol explains right at the end of the clip: “Asensio isn’t moving”.

At least they tried.
