On Wednesday, we covered some claims in the Italian press that an agent, per Paulo Dybala’s request, was asking around Premier League clubs to see if they were interested in the Argentine.
Among those were Tottenham, described as a valid track for the player, where Fabio Paratici would likely welcome him with open arms, having previously signed him for Juventus from Palermo.
They weren’t the only ones after him, mind, with Arsenal and Manchester City also reportedly on the case, but Corriere della Sera on Thursday don’t mention either, and focus solely on Spurs in England.
The newspaper reveal Dybala ‘consulted with his friend Danilo and relied on the same intermediary that operates mainly in Spain’.
They add he has already done a tour of Spain, with Atlético Madrid described as the most interested, and ‘more recently with clubs of the Premier League’, where ‘Paratici’s Tottenham remain a valid hypothesis’.
This will solely be down to the director of football, and perhaps the appeal of playing under Antonio Conte, but it’s been said time and time again that England isn’t top of the player’s list.
Tottenham’s staff could be what changes this, and we’ll have to wait and see what comes of all this in the next weeks and months, because this is going to drag on for a while, especially with a World Cup to take into consideration.
