According to claim in the Italian media, Tottenham Hotspur have again turned down an approach from Chelsea for Fernando Llorente.

The Spaniard was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the last window, but took the decision to sign for Tottenham.

In the last hour TMW have claim Chelsea have been unsuccessful in their attempts to sign Llorente before tomorrow’s deadline.

It’s been well documented in the past few weeks Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to bring in a target man in this transfer window.

The West London club have been locked in talks with AS Roma in the past week to sign former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko, but the player decided to remain in the Italian capital.

With Vincent Janssen on a season long loan with Fenerbahce it always seemed unlikely Tottenham would sell Llorente to their London rivals, and with just over 24 hours left of the window it seems like Conte won’t get his man.

Chelsea’s alternative is Olivier Giroud, which isn’t a bad fallback option.
