Often the claims talking up a transfer spread much more widely than those talking one down, which is the case with Mousa Dembele and Tottenham.
With Sky Sports and Sky Italia bouncing claims between one another of interest from both Milan clubs, the story continues to pop up every day or so in either the English or Italian media.
Dembele potentially moving to Milan in the January window has now become a thing, even if there doesn’t seem a great deal in it. Money would be a huge problem for either club, with it being hard to imagine Tottenham would entertain the sort of offers they’d likely get from either side, whether that be for a loan or permanent move.
Milan feel they haven’t yet settled their summer signings and aren’t likely to invest heavily again, and on Sunday Gazzetta dello Sport reported Walter Sabatini, Inter’s Director of Sport, had travelled to China to try and get some money out of the club’s owners.
In that report, Dembele wasn’t even mentioned as a target, which gives another big hint.
With FFP struggles real, and any Dembele deal not being cheap, it simply doesn’t add up. It doesn’t make sense for Tottenham either in the January window.
