On Thursday, when Tuttosport reported Juventus’ chase for a midfielder, they gave a percentage of the chances that each player would be signed by the club.
Strootman from Roma got 35%, Barcelona’s André Gomes 25%, and then there was Moussa Sissoko, from Tottenham Hotspur, with 15%. Bayern Munich’s Sanches and Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi got 10% each, and there was a 5% chance that no one would be signed.
But things seem to have changed a little bit since then, because when covering the same situation today, Tuttosport gives a new angle.
They say André Gomes is the most likely signing, as the talks between Juventus and Barcelona have been advancing in the past days. But in case something happens, like a disagreement or Man United going for him, then Strootman would be the next one on the list.
When talking about Tottenham’s Sissoko this time, they only mention him as a ‘last minute option’. He’s put beside Sanches and N’Zonzi as possibilities who will only be attempted in case everything else goes wrong.
So the transfer is looking more and more unlikely, and in case Juve really go for the player at the last minute, then Tottenham will be in a pretty good position to make all the demands they want.
This would go against rumours in England that Sissoko is one the verge of a move from Tottenham to Juventus.
