Loaned by Middlesbrough FC to Nottingham Forest, Djed Spence is having the time of his life this season.

The right-back has scored two goals and assisted another three for the Championship side in 33 appearances, and has caught the eye of a long list of big clubs across Europe, including Tottenham.

The position is one the club could do with strengthening going forward, as Matt Doherty is now in his 30s and doesn’t appear to have a long-term future under Antonio Conte.

Emerson Royal did arrive in the summer for Tottenham and is currently the first choice under the Italian, but he will need some competition, which is where Spence would likely come in.

Florian Plettenburg, a journalist for Sky Germany, brings an update on Monday, as Bayern Munich are also keen on the player, where he gives the latest on the situation.

Taking to Twitter, he said the Bundesliga club are still interested and ‘further talks are planned this month’, with the Middlesbrough starlet wanting ‘a decision in April/May’ regarding his future.

As for the price, it’s said the Riverside club will want between €10-15m for the 21-year-old, with no fewer than seven top clubs from the Premier League ‘including Manchester City and Tottenham’, two Spanish sides, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig providing competitions for the Bavarians along the way.
