A couple of days ago, we covered a claim from Italy that Tottenham were asking for no less than €20m for Giovani Lo Celso.
The Argentine midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Villarreal, where he did very well, which certainly pleased Spurs.
The La Liga side have been trying to sign the Tottenham player permanently, but they don’t quite have the funds just yet, which opened the door for Fiorentina.
They were already keen in January, but lost out to Villarreal, and now their chance has appeared once again.
The problem is that Lo Celso’s stock has risen following his loan, and Tottenham want to make as much money from him as possible.
That’s what Tottenham want, and it appears to be a hill they are willing to die on for the time being.
Fiorentina, however, are trying to get him for a bit less, with La Nazione, relayed by Fiorentina.it, stating that the last contacts between the two clubs date from 48 hours ago.
Negotiations reportedly go on, and the Serie A side are ‘aiming for a loan with the right of redemption fixed at €17m, which would rise to €20m with bonuses’.
Right now, that doesn’t ‘warm’ Tottenham, who are ‘determined to get a high price.
For Lo Celso, though, a ‘multi-year deal would be ready’, guaranteeing him a ‘top-level engagement’ by the Italians’ standards.
