It’s been a very Isco heavy day at Sport Witness, but when the player’s agent starts talking to the Italian media, we can’t ignore it.
Earlier on Thursday, we relayed a couple of articles from Spain and Italy stating Tottenham would be ‘willing to pay €45m’ for the Spanish attacking midfielder in January, while AC Milan would provide strong competition, especially with their new Chinese backing.
The 24-year-old has only made five short appearances under Zinedine Zidane so far this season, totalling up to a paltry 192 minutes, and it seems he’s going to endure that for the rest of the footballing year, at least.
Speaking to Calciomercato, his father, who also represents him, explained: “We decided to keep a low profile with the press. We can assure you that we will not consider any offer until next summer.”
This means, and you probably don’t need this pointing out, that Isco and his entourage have no interest whatsoever to shake things up in January.
Instead, they’ll wait until they have more time and see how things go.
For all you know, a few Real Madrid players might get injured, Isco comes in, impresses and becomes a starter under Zidane.
Things can happen very quickly in football, both off and on the pitch.
