Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kökçü could follow Arne Slot to Tottenham, with Spurs ‘intensively scouting’ the midfielder in recent seasons.
That’s according to 1908.nl, who say that Slot is not the ‘only candidate’ at Feyenoord who could end up at Tottenham in the summer.
They explain that Spurs have been following the midfielder for years and the reports are ‘more than convincing enough’ for them to make a move for the player.
Their interest in the midfielder is unrelated to their interest in Slot, who is among the candidates being considered by Daniel Levy to replace Antonio Conte.
Like with Slot, Tottenham ‘have had talks’ with the player and his entourage ‘in recent days’ about a move, although there has not been contact with Feyenoord as yet.
The Dutch champions are not interested in losing one of their key players and have set a €40m asking price on the player, although that could be a figure which moves depending on which clubs actually move to try and sign him.
That will depend on a number of factors and the ‘overall picture’ but there is a belief that Tottenham could move soon to start negotiations for Kökçü. Indeed, both internally and externally at Feyenoord they believe he will move at some point in June.
