Tottenham Hotspur fans may remember that last week, the club were linked to Sporting midfielder Adrien Silva.

A story from A Bola said Spurs had the 28-year-old on their summer list, and could be advancing with a €30m offer soon.

It was also claimed that Tottenham wanted the transfer to be closed before the start of the Confederations Cup, and the chase could have updates soon.

But well, there aren’t any. It’s actually a bit funny that Record kind of has the same story today, talking about the interest as something new.

The information is the same: a €30m bid on the way, Tottenham wanting the signing before the Confederations Cup, player willing to go.

According to today’s story, the reason for the delay is that talks have only been informal, and Sporting are still waiting for Tottenham to make the official bid.

Record claims that Sporting want to sell only one of their stars for an amount below the release clause, so if Mauricio Pochettino really wants Adrien, Tottenham better make sure it’s him. That could save €15m.

We, however, have our doubts regarding this chase. As we’ve explained in an article at the start of the month, the speculation may have started in the English press.
