Despite enjoying what many would call a disappointing season at Tottenham this year, Harry Kane is still finding the back of the net more often than most.
With 18 goals in 36 games in all competitions, the England international remains one of the more prolific goalscorers in Europe, and Antonio Conte can count himself lucky to have him in his squad.
Kane and the Italian manager appear to have formed a good relationship since the former Chelsea man arrived to replace Nuno Espírito Santo, and the 28-year-old ensured is team didn’t suffer two embarrassments on the trot this weekend by scoring and assisting another in the 4-0 win over Leeds.
None of this has stopped the rumours surrounding the Spurs striker, however, with Manchester United reportedly still interested in him, which Ciro Venerato, an Italian journalist pushed again on Monday.
Speaking to Area Napoli about the Red Devils’ interest in Victor Osimhen, he was asked who was the favourite between Kane and the Nigeria international in the north of England.
He said: “For now, neither, in the sense that Kane also needs a broad examination, because Tottenham are a very rich club and do not need any money, not even the €120m that would come from the transfer of the forward.
“The point is that the player is waiting to know Antonio Conte’s future. He likes the Italian manager’s project. Should he leave, Kane might ask to leave too.”
