Tottenham Hotspur star Vincent Janssen has told the Dutch media he doesn’t need the help of a mental coach to find his goalscoring touch. The 22-year-old arrived in England this summer as the top scorer from the Dutch league last season, but has just one goal to his name in this campaign.
De Telegraaf have reported on comments Janssen made in the lead up to his country’s two World Cup qualifiers against France and Belarus.
The forward said at the moment he just wants to focus on his game, and do it his way. Janssen believes he doesn’t need any assistance from a mental coach, but hasn’t ruled it out in the future.
“I want to focus on football and just go on the pitch to do my thing. Anyway, I don’t need a mental coach now. Maybe this comes in the course of time, but right now I’m not the type of person who needs it,” said the Tottenham star.
Janssen signed for Tottenham in the last window for £17m, and is still settling in at his new club. Despite the injury to Harry Kane, Jannsen only played a few minutes against Manchester City at the weekend even though he was the only recognised centre forward in the squad.
