France and Tottenham Hotspur skipper Hugo Lloris has been speaking to French newspaper L’Equipe.
The 29-year-old mostly talked about his disappointment of losing the final against Portugal at the Euros, but was also asked about his future with Tottenham.
Lloris was asked if his phone has been ringing this summer over the possibility of a transfer, to which he replied: “I turned it off (smiles). There are rumours of departure since many summers.
“I’ve never asked myself the question. I knew I would stay. I am in a project which started really with Pochettino. The first two seasons, yes, it didn’t happen as I wished collectively, but the challenges have helped me make my way. They saw that they could count on me.”
The former Lyon goalkeeper also insisted he is very much looking forward to playing in the Champions League this season.
He said: “It is an indescribable competition. This is where you have to be, and where you want to be.”
