Every national team needs their hero.
Sweden had Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Portugal have Cristiano Ronaldo and France are hoping Paul Pogba becomes theirs.
As the international break provides a lull in things to write about, Ekstra Bladet have taken it upon themselves to find who can step out from the shadows and become their caped crusader.
To start off, they focus on the most obvious option: Christian Eriksen.
At 24 years of age, the Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder already has 64 caps for his country, and is also their captain.
Ekstra Bladet have some sort of comparison graphic going on, and reckon the closest superhero to the former Ajax starlet is the Green Arrow, a master archer.
Their reasoning is that both are capable of ‘putting it on a dime from 50 metres’, as well as ‘keeping their nerves calm under great pressure’.
If that wasn’t enough to convince you, both are intelligent (well, the Green Arrow is ‘super-intelligent’) and are blessed with great precision.
Who are we to disagree, but let’s be honest, if someone in that team is going to step up to the plate, it’s probably Eriksen.
