Tottenham defender Pedro Porro has admitted the biggest thing he’s had to adapt to in England is the food.
The full-back has been speaking to Telemundo about life at Tottenham and the adaptations he’s had to make since moving to London.
The defender has had something of a career bouncing between Spain, England and Portugal so far after joining Manchester City from Girona in August 2019.
He failed to make it at the Etihad and spent his time at the club out on loan, first at Real Valladolid and then Sporting Club de Portugal, who he joined on a permanent basis in July 2022.
He enjoyed a rapid rise at the Portuguese club, as many have done in recent years, leading to him being highly sought after and Tottenham eventually making the move to bring him back to England last year, originally signing him on loan from Sporting before making the move permanent last summer.
Porro has been a permanent fixture in the first team since and seems well adapted to life in the Premier League, although that doesn’t mean there isn’t one major thing he isn’t missing from life back home.
“I would say the food, to be honest,” he said when asked what’s been the most difficult thing for him.
“Yes, in the first few months I didn’t know how to move around here, but now I have found my Spanish things.
“The food and the sun, many people tell me in England. I have really missed the sun in Spain. Well, today I went out training so I could see it. Today I missed it.”
