Towards the end of the 2021 summer window, Tottenham Hotspur reportedly showed interest in AC Milan’s Franck Kessié.

A deal then was dismissed because the midfielder, insisted he was happy at the San Siro. However, he has not signed a new deal with the Serie A side, and a renewal doesn’t look close.

The 25-year-old has less than six months left on his contract and is being linked to the likes of the north London club, Paris Saint-Germain and a few others clubs.

According to Calciomercato, there are ‘no substantial steps forward’ to renew the Ivory Coast international’s current deal beyond June 30th as both parties are ‘firm’ in their positions and are not willing to compromise.

Kessié is demanding a better deal to continue at Milan beyond this season, while Stefano Pioli’s side believe they have already made their best offer to him.

Regarding suitors, it’s claimed that clubs outside Italy are interested in the player, ‘above all Tottenham and PSG’. These two sides are looking for a possible deal to take the player on a free transfer next summer.

The website states the case is still not closed, but the ‘stalemate remains’ between Kessié and Milan over a renewal. Therefore, the ‘risk of a farewell at the end of the season is increasingly real’. This could please Spurs, PSG and other interest clubs.
