In the past 24 hours there have been claims in the English media Tottenham Hotspur are interested in PSV youngster Steven Bergwijn.
This speculation is gathering momentum in the Netherlands, with reports Southampton, along with Tottenham, are interested in the attacker.
Voetbal International have today reported Tottenham and Southampton could again look to the Eredivisie, and target Bergwijn.
In past windows Tottenham recruited from the Dutch league by bringing in Vincent Janssen and Davinson Sánchez, whilst Southampton signed Jordy Clasie from Feyenoord during Ronald Koeman’s reign at the club.
It’s reported both Premier League sides may need to act quickly to sign Berwijn due to interest from others, most notably Torino. The Serie A side tried to sign the Netherlands U21 international late into the last window, but failed to get a deal done.
There are also claims fellow English sides West Ham and Bournemouth are keen on Bergwijn, but as it stands it seems Tottenham and Southampton interest is gathering the most speed.
Ever since Mauricio Pochettino moved from Southampton to Tottenham, and took some recruitment staff with him, the two clubs have repeatedly been linked to the same players.
