Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is in his final year of contract and the north London club retain an option to extend it by a further year.
Earlier this season, reports talked about the Italian returning to Juventus, but he has already dismissed these claims.
Spurs don’t want to risk losing the 53-year-old at the end of this season. According to La Repubblica, relayed by Calciomerctao, they are ‘working to lock down’ their coach to a new contract until 2025.
It’s claimed Tottenham are set to make a ‘super-offer’ to Conte, which will see his salary improve from €15m to €20m net per year.
In addition to this, the Premier League side are ready to hand the ex-Chelsea manager a budget of €200m to bolster the squad. Spurs are hoping to convince their coach to sign an extension during the World Cup break.
Conte is not in a hurry to make a decision on his future. He is waiting to see if there will be offers from Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain. There would also be the possibility of returning to Juventus.
At the moment, the report explains this hypothesis doesn’t please Conte as he wants to continue to work abroad for a few more years before returning to Italy. However, Juve are ‘are a matter of the heart and the heart cannot be commanded’.
