Claims that, once again, Inter Milan are prepared to sell Marcelo Brozovic have made their way to the Croatian media. Inter were strongly linked with selling Brozovic during the last summer transfer window, and Tottenham and Chelsea were linked repeatedly.
This week it was reported in Italy Tottenham remain keen and would have to pay around €25m to sign the midfielder for Mauricio Pochettino.
Thursday’s edition of Croatian newspaper 24 Sata also carries claims of Inter’s readiness to sell the player, and they link Chelsea, saying Antonio Conte is keen to sign the player.
Once again the asking price is put at €25m, just over £20m.
Brozovic has been excellent for Inter Milan this season and it would be strange for them to sell, but Inter have made strange transfer decisions repeatedly in the recent past so it can’t be ruled out.
The Croatian, according to WhoScored, is second only to Mauro Icardi in performance so far this season, and even that is marginal.
Pochettino or Conte, should they sign the player, would get themselves someone who can play well as a defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, or on the right. He’s done all so far this season for Inter to a good standard.
A move to Tottenham or Chelsea in the summer would likely depend on what exits Pochettino and Conte have in mind for their squads. If Moussa Sissoko is pushed out the door quickly, and Spurs may have issues finding a buyer, then Brozovic could replace him.
