At the weekend, Fanatik stated Tottenham Hotspur have identified Fenerbahçe’s Sebastian Szymański as a target to replace Giovani Lo Celso in the summer window.
Lo Celso isn’t pleased with his limited game time in recent months and would like to leave the north London club.
Damga Gazetesi now state Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen have ‘stepped in’ to sign the star, and these two clubs are now joined by Napoli and Sevilla in the transfer race.
The attacking midfielder joined the Yellow Canaries last summer and has excelled in his debut season, managing 12 goals and 17 assists from 50 games.
The Poland international’s current deal lasts until 2028 and it’s claimed Fenerbahçe’s aim is to collect at least €30m, if they decide to cash in from his sale in the next window.
Meanwhile, Fotomaç state that it looks like Szymański ‘will fly away’ from the Turkish club after this season. The number of clubs showing interest in him is rising and Fenerbahçe have started to receive the ‘letter of interest’.
It’s explained that the ‘most serious clubs’ are Tottenham and Sevilla. These two teams will contact Fenerbahçe at the end of this season and will ‘make an offer’ for the Pole.
With Fenerbahçe wanting at least €30m, Spurs, Sevilla or any other club have to meet their request to sign Szymański.
