Tottenham were one of a handful of Premier League clubs weakly linked with Arnaut Groeneveld in the winter market, and since then it’s gone quiet for the 22 year old and a move to England’s top flight.
Last year he scored six goals and assisted four in 24 matches for the Belgian club, playing on the left of midfield.
Club Brugge regularly receive scouts from around Europe, and whilst Groeneveld will have been a target for some, he wasn’t one of the real standout players.
Born in Lagos, he moved to the Netherlands as a youngster and has represented Oranje at youth level and for the senior team. He appeared in two matches for Ronald Koeman’s side in October 2018, scoring in a friendly against Belgium, but hasn’t featured for them since.
Voetbal International say the player is ‘getting ready for a transfer’, and claim there’s interest from ‘major clubs’ in England, Spain and Italy.
Tottenham are the only English side named, with Spurs interest said to be ‘serious’.
Groeneveld is described as being hopeful for a ‘step up’ in his career this summer, which may suggest where the information has come from.
The Dutch news source says an agreement to sign the player ‘will probably take a while’ to be reached.
