Tottenham were scouting Ajax youngster Rayane Bounida this week, with him free to negotiate with clubs from 1 January.
That’s according to Hank Spaan, who reports in his column for Het Parool that Tottenham’s technical director was present at Ajax’s clash against Tottenham’s U23’s this week to watch Bounida in action.
The journalist hands Bounida a 9/10 for his performance this week after Tottenham took on their counterparts from Ajax in the Premier League International Cup.
Tottenham were heavily beaten by the Dutch side after two goals from Jaydon Banel and one from Bounida put the away side firmly in control inside 11 minutes before an eventual 5-1 defeat.
Tottenham’s own website described Bounida’s goals as a ‘moment of quality’ in which he turned away from danger and hammered a right-footed shot from the left-hand side of the box.
The youngster is considered a rising star of Ajax’s famed academy and has nine goals, and one assists in 15 games in the U18 Div. 1 Fall and Keuken Kampioen Divisie this season.
Now it seems Spurs have become attentive to him, and they can discuss a pre-contract agreement from 1 January as his current contract is set to expire next summer and is yet to be extended.
“According to Susan Lenderink, nothing can go wrong after Mislintat. The protocols have been adjusted,” he said.
“This with Marijn Beuker as director of football, Alex Kroes as technical director, Danny Blind as football commissioner, Kelvin de Lang as chief scout and Louis van Gaal as advisor to the Supervisory Board,” she said. I consider it a terrifying, bureaucratic image.
